Another Update

Hey all,

Just thought I'd post an update on what I have been up to with art and writing.
First off,
Art:

Last week I finished my blue line drawing "Portrait of a Starfish".
I should probably take the time to talk about why I call them 'portraits'.  Every drawing is unique. I would never be able to reproduce the same drawing again, like a fingerprint. These 'fingerprint drawings' are a sort of portrait of a moment in my life.
When I finished the first of the animal series, I thought that the bronze on black reminded me of scales of a fish. That is when I decided that I to do more portraits of animals.
So far there will be:
- Fish
- Starfish
- Tiger
- Bumblebee
- Crocodile
- Dragon
- Unicorn
There might be more, not sure.

I have already started the Tiger drawing:

I have also just finished a painting. It is an abstract oil on canvas painting called 'Shallow Waters' and should be up on my website now : http://tarabatemanart.weebly.com/paintings.html

My next painting will be of another girl, which I will start this week at some point.

I have also been sewing:
 Though it's going slowly.

Writing:

I have been editing my children's Picture Story Book and trying to think of the best way to go forward in regards to getting it published.
I have also been thinking about how I'd like the illustration to look (because I would like to illustrate it).

I have also been thinking of ideas for a short story. I had been working on one all last year and then, when I got to the end of the year, realised it wasn't working. There was no climax or tension in it.
So, for the last two weeks, I had been thinking of different ideas where there will hopefully be a climax and some tension.
It will be fantasy.

I have also been working on my main fantasy story. I'm slowly but surly building up the world while writing short stories to go with it.

Anyway, that's what I have been up to in the last week or more.

Talk to you again soon :)

Hello again

So, I've been going crazy lately with my art. I have almost finished my blue line drawing and will probably finish it next week (a week or so early than I planned).

Here is what it looks like so far:

I've already started to plan my next one. It will be black on orange:

I've also started back at my writing again this week. So far I have re-evaluated my deadlines I set for myself and set myself new ones. I'm still focusing on writing short stories and world building for longer stories.
I'm also going to keep trying at getting my Picture Storybook Manuscript sent off. Hopefully I can find someone who likes it this years.

Oh, and I'm also slowly making progress on my sewing project.

Anyway, that is all for now. I will keep you updated on everything,

Until next time

Update

So, this is just an update on what I have been doing art-wise recently.

I have started a new, would be line drawing (So far it is just colour):
 I am starting a drawing:
Here is what it will look like:

And here is an update on my sewing (I keep forgetting it). I started it back in 2010(?) and have been sewing it periodically. I want to finish it soon so I can move on to the next idea. I just keep forgetting it.
And here is some closer photos:

Next week I will start writing again. I have been writing every now and then, but I've been too busy to do anything substantial.

Until next time, toodles.

Happy New Year!

So, it's now the 2nd of January, 2014. I've partied, I've rested and now it's time to get back into work.

For those who are interested, I finished my line drawing, on Sunday, and it is now up on my website. I also found another drawing, which I finished sometime last year, but had not put it up on my website (not sure why), so I have put that up too.

The line drawing I called "Portrait of a Fish" because, in the right light, the bronze lines kind of looked like scales.

And the other drawing is called "Sea Monster", it is obviously a drawing of a sea monster. No explanation needed.

Other than that, I've taken a break from writing for the moment, and won't start again until the 13th. But I'll probably still read and make art in my spare time, maybe plan some stories - who knows.

Anyway, I hope everyone had fun on NYE and I hope everyone has a Happy New Year and achieves what the want to.
Have fun, play safe, keep it real... Or don't... Have fun whichever way.

Progress- My addiction.

It had been awhile since I had made anymore progress on my new Line Drawing.
For those who don't know what I mean when I talk about Line Drawings; they are drawings of lines which swirl and play tricks on your eyes. In a way they remind me of fingerprints, because each drawing is unique, which is why I say they are like self-portraits. Each line is an expression of myself.

So this is the progress I have made on my new Line Drawing (Untitled as of now).

That was awhile ago, I'm not sure if I have any other photos of it in between then and today.
But here is where I'm up to now.

And a detail shot:

I reckon I'd be able to finish it this weekend, if I knew my pen would not run out.

Hello, again.
On my website, I have recently added two new works:
"Bird house"
and "The Girl in Orange"

Both paintings were Christmas presents I made, "Bird House" was for my Nan and Pa and "The Girl in Orange" was for my Auntie.

I had a lot of fun painting these and it got me back into doing art again, after being uninspired for so long.

As soon as I can I will be getting more canvas and doing more paintings.

Welcome (Again)

Hello all, and welcome to my (slightly) new blog.

I'm starting this blog from scratch, again, because I neglected it for awhile. It will be about my art and writing and anything else I feel like posting.

It's almost the new year now and I have decided I will do my new year's resolutions now.

1- get my picture story book published (last year I tried but it was rejected)
2- put some of my art work in an exhibition (have not done that for a year now)
3- finish writing both of my fantasy short stories (which I have been working on all last year)
4- have something published in a magazine (either a short story or an artwork or both)
5- travel (anywhere, I don't care)
6- read, read, read, read (I do this anyway, but I want to have one that I KNOW I can fulfil)
7- pass my martial arts gradings
8- get into a routine (a proper one) where I have dedicated time to write or create art
9- find a new job (which I can create a proper routine around)
10- Start writing at least one novel.

So, maybe a little ambitious, but I WILL keep you posted (maybe I should add that to my list).

Please feel free to comment or follow this blog,

Goodbye, for now.
